Well, here at Fret Mill Music Co. we have just the answer to your problems! Our friendly staff of instructors have over 50 years of teaching experience, and are here to help you learn to play like the pros. We offer lessons on a variety of instruments, several of which are not often found at most instructional facilities.

Our instructors teach; Acoustic and Electric guitar, Bass, Bluegrass and Clawhammer Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Mountain and Hammered Dulcimer and Harmonica.

Lessons are one-on-one half-hour sessions held in one of our five newly-remodeled lesson studios above our retail location in downtown Roanoke. At a cost of only $16 per lesson it's hard to beat the individual attention you'll get from your instructor. Lessons are available Monday-Saturday, times may vary. Meet The Instructors

Phill HollandPhil Holland-Phil began teaching guitar when he was 16 years old, traveling to each students home. After attending college, he returned to Roanoke and taught music at his own location for several years. Phil has been the Music Director at Fret Mill for many years. He has played with more than 10 working bands in his career. His tastes range from Christian rock, Classic rock and Hard rock up to today's newest Alternative rock. Phil teaches by note, tablature and also by ear.

Wes ChappellWes Chappell-Wes began playing music on the family piano, then moved on to providing vocals for local rock bands. In college he discovered string instruments and has never looked back. For the past 20 years Wes has played hammer dulcimer, mandolin, bouzouki, pennywhistle, theremin and anything else he can get his hands on. Wes currently plays with national touring act "No Strings Attached" as well as local Celtic favorites "Second Wynde". He has been teaching at Fret Mill for over ten years, specializing in many unusual instruments.

Terry HannabassTerry Hannabass-Terry has been playing music from a young age. He played in local band Whitehorse for 16 years, and recently in the band "Uncle Terry". He has done well in numerous competitions, including 1st place at the Galax Fiddlers convention and the East Coast Championships in banjo. He also placed second at the Vinton Bluegrass Festival on dobro, and second on banjo at the State Competitions in Crewe, Virginia. Terry has been teaching since 1994, and plays banjo, fiddle, guitar, dobro and mandolin.
